First Baptist Church In...

The Mission Board members volunteer their time to coordinate funding of Christian missions in the U.S., Puerto Rico and worldwide through regular contributions from our church giving; and four special offerings throughout the year: World Missions Offering, America for Christ Offering, One Great Hour of Sharing Offering (administered through the Church World Service which assists people throughout the world to recover from natural disasters), and the Retired Missionaries And Ministers Offering.  We also partner locally with the Salvation Army Food Pantry and Charity Works to help meet needs and we join with the Jersey County Ministerial Alliance to promote community worship, fellowship between pastors, Character Plus education and support of other local charities. Each Fall, the church sponsors “Trunk or Treat” for all children in the neighborhood. Children come to our church parking lot and members of the church hand out candy as a safe alternative to Trick or Treating in the community.  The church also participates in giving to “Operation Christmas Child”.  First Baptist Church holds shoe drives periodically for The Kenya Well Water Project administered by “Kenya ShoeMan” George Hutchings to be recycled an used to raise funds for clean drinking water in Kenya.
